Abbaye Saint-Nicolas will host this summer the 2026 Contemporary Art Biennale, a major artistic event bringing together several contemporary artists in the heart of one of Normandy’s emblematic heritage sites.
From July 1 to August 30, 2026, visitors will discover a collective exhibition featuring painting, sculpture, installations, and a wide variety of artistic worlds, with the aim of making art accessible to everyone.
Featured artists include Florence Daubas, Aurélien Boiffier, Antoine Coubronne, Yan Xiao Hug, Walter Sene, Dominique Robert, Alexandra de Lapierre, Bruno Robert, Eliette Lelièvre, and Florent Cordier.
- Closed on August 15, 2026
Two conferences will take place on July 25 and August 22 starting at 7:00 PM.
These talks aim to make contemporary art more approachable, accessible to a wider audience, and to encourage reflection beyond the circle of specialists. The conferences will be hosted by Jérôme Buisson.
Visitors will also enjoy two late-night openings on July 17 and August 14, from 10:00 PM to midnight, offering a unique artistic experience within the special atmosphere of the abbey at night.
Throughout the exhibition, some artists will be present on Saturday afternoons to meet visitors and discuss their artistic approaches and works.
The 2026 Contemporary Art Biennale reflects a commitment to cultural exchange and to fostering connections between heritage, contemporary creation, and the public.
